Welcome to Carrom Scorer. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in our carrom scoring application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Local Data Storage

Our app stores the following information locally on your device:

• Game Data: Player names, scores, game history, and match results
• App Preferences: Theme settings (light/dark mode), timer preferences, and other settings (e.g. show player coins, scoring preferences)
• Carromite Account (optional): If you log in to Carromite, we store your username locally (for convenience) and an authentication token in secure storage. Your password is never stored—it is sent only to the Carromite server (or your configured API host) for login.
• Custom API Host URL: If you set a custom API host in Settings, it is stored locally
• Log Files: Application logs for debugging purposes (automatically deleted after 7 days)

2.2 No Personal Data Collection by Us

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our own servers. We do not collect:

• Email addresses (except as part of a Carromite username you choose to log in with)
• Phone numbers
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics

When you use Carromite login, your username and password are sent only to the Carromite server (app.carromite.online or your configured API host) for authentication. We do not store your password; we store only a session token and your username on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Local Functionality

The locally stored data is used solely for:

• Tracking carrom game scores and statistics
• Managing game history and results
• Personalizing app appearance (theme preferences) and game settings
• Providing timer functionality during games
• Debugging and improving app performance

3.2 Carromite Account

When you log in to Carromite (Settings → Carromite Account):

• Your username and password are sent to the Carromite server (or your custom API host) to obtain an authentication token
• We store only the token (in secure storage) and your username locally
• The token is used to fetch your organizations, upcoming tournaments, and upcoming games for the "My Upcoming" feature
• You can log out at any time to clear the stored token and stop account-related requests

3.3 External Game Integration

When you use external game features:

• Game data may be shared with the external server (e.g. app.carromite.online, or your custom API host set in Settings) for tournament or competition purposes
• Only game-related information (scores, player names, results) is transmitted
• No personal contact information is shared beyond what is required for the game
• You have control over which games are shared externally

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using secure storage methods where appropriate (e.g. authentication token in secure storage)
• Data is not accessible to other apps or third parties
• Log files are automatically cleaned up after 7 days

4.2 Data Transmission

• External game data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections
• No data is transmitted without your explicit action
• Failed transmissions are clearly indicated in the app

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Data Control

• You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app
• You can choose not to use external game features
• You can share log files for debugging purposes (optional)

5.2 External Game and Account Features

• External game integration is optional
• Carromite account login is optional; you can use "My Upcoming" only if you log in
• You can log out from Carromite at any time in Settings to clear the stored token
• You can import games from external sources and choose which games to export to external servers

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 External Game and Authentication Servers

When using Carromite or external game features, data may be shared with:

• Carromite (e.g. app.carromite.online) or your custom API host: For login we send your username and password to obtain an authentication token; we do not store your password. For tournaments and "My Upcoming", we send only the token. For external games, we send game data (scores, player names, results).
• You can set a custom API host URL in Settings (advanced); that host will receive the same types of data when you use login or external games
• External servers have their own privacy policies

6.2 Universal Links

The app supports universal links that may open external game URLs. These links are processed locally and do not transmit additional data.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require personal information to function.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

9. Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you uninstall the app or manually delete it
• Carromite Login: Your username and session token are retained until you log out or uninstall the app
• Log Files: Automatically deleted after 7 days
• External Data: Subject to the privacy policy of the external service

10. International Users

This app is designed to work locally on your device. Any external data transmission follows the privacy policies of the respective external services.
